Mechnext

Team mechnext is one of the six prominent technical clubs of J.C bose university of science and technology ymca eshtablished in January 2008. It is one of the core technical club's of ymca providing practical knowledge to the students regarding mechanical engineering and covering other feild aspects also ,its aim is to nourish the knowledge with right practical work and innovation.

Our Motto

Image by Marvin Meyer The mission of Mechnext Club is to unite students in an educational environment and provide students a place to pursue their interest in mechanical, electronic, and software design by working on large and small scale projects. However, the club provides much more than just technical growth to its members, from team-building to cooperation, from perseverance to sincerity, the club teaches you a myriad of interpersonal skills essential in daily life. The club is open to students with or without experience because, believe it or not, none of us had any idea of project when we first stepped into the club room, neither do we expect anything from you. You just need to show up and the club and its people will take care of the rest.

Practical knowledge

Theoretical knowledge may be attributed to the theoretical clarity of a particular topic or subject, wherein person has quite an understanding about the things going around, and the principle of their working, but cannot control the things. For example, if a person studies about a car and its engine parts in a classroom from books and presentation slides, he would, of course, have knowledge about what are the parts of the car, and what is the principle of working, but he would lack practical knowledge about it. In the absence of this practical knowledge, the usefulness of that car for him is zero.

Designing Components

The functional design knowledge of submerged breakwaters, including their impacts on wave transformation, wave and current field around the structure, sediment transport and shoreline response, is still developing. Various theoretical studies, experimental works, field measurements, empirical and numerical models have been developed for predicting different physical phenomena related to the submerged breakwaters. Previous laboratory experiments, numerical models and field measurements have been performed in an effort to investigate the hydrodynamic and morphodynamic impacts of the submerged breakwaters on the coastal zone, and still studies continue to be developed. This chapter looks into the historical studies and research on submerged breakwaters.
